Can't save or transfer or pretty much anything right after the new year? With the new calendar year, you have to let Counterpoint know that it is a new calendar year for your company!
How to Update the Counterpoint Company Calendar Year
Setting the new Calendar
- Login to Counterpoint and browse to (Setup/ System/ Company)
- On the ‘Main’ tab, you would select the ‘Current Calendar’ to be the appropriate year by opening the magnifying glass and selecting the correct calendar year.
- After you have selected the correct year, save your company changes by clicking the blue floppy disk in the top left corner;
Creating a new Calendar
If you do not have a calendar created for the new year, you will have to create one. Also pretty simple:
1 - Click the "Add" button.
2 - Type in the name of your new Calendar and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
3 - Enter your Begin date, End date, the name of the Last year calendar and Next year calendar. You actually shouldn't use the lookup function for the calendar names because you probably haven't created the next calendar yet. So just put in the name of the next year.
4 - Once those settings are in place, click on Set Default Dates. Select the day that ends your first week of the year (usually Sunday).
5 - Once you select that and hit ok, the season information will be automatically created and you are done! Don't forget to save!
Possible Warning Message
If anyone has Counterpoint open at the same time that you are making this company system calendar update, you will get this message;
This message simply means that anyone who had Counterpoint open when you made the calendar change will need to restart their Counterpoint in order to have the new calendar year take into affect.
And with that, you are ready to go!
We hope the rest of the challenges you face this year will be as easy to solve as this!
Happy New Year from RMS!
